Explanation: The layers at Nevali Çori, from top to bottom, have been identified as Roman, EBA I, Chalcolithic (Halaf), and the Aceramic Neolithic. The Aceramic Neolithic finds were recovered from both sides of Kantara Stream, and have been labeled as Nevali Çori I and II. Five occupational phases have been identified at Nevali Çori I, while two have been identified at II. 14C dates are from the Aceramic Neolithic layers.
