Explanation: During the excavations conducted by R. Braidwood in 1930's, some layers contemporary to the Halaf and Obeid periods, dating to the Amuq C-E had been uncovered. It was re-excavated under the Amuq Project of the Oriental Institute of the Chicago University in 1996-1999 and 2000, the excavations in 1996-1999 being concentrated in the layer Amuq E while the one in 2000 in the layer Amuq C. Ten AMS dates are available from the Amuq C.
