Location: Karabük is reached by TEM between Istanbul and Gerede. On the 9th km of the Karabük-Yenice motorway; when a left is made from the bridge located at where a construction site is present; and continued thereafter; it leads into the Sipahiler Village after 9 km. When it is turned toward the Belen Plateau from the village; and gone straight ahead; it ends up at the joint for Ardiclikdüzü-Subatasi.
Structural Properties and formation : It is entered through a sloping incline. There are two chimneys nearly 17 m above the entrance. The upper entrance on the road side is considered to be formed as a result of a collapse. Based on the information obtained from a survey carried out by BUMAK in 1993; there is an ice layer of 40 cm thick on the floor of the hall and on some walls even in August. The sinkhole advances toward right; along with a fault line in a direction of 330 degrees to the north 5-10 m after the entrance.
Research History: It was explored by BUMAK in 1993; and mapped to the 3c standard.
