It is at a 15 minute walking distance from the Arili (former name; Avsali) village. The cave is located on the southern slope of the Bozkaya Hill (2117 m); which lies 1 km east of Arili. It was developed within the Lower Cretaceous aged jointed limestones. As this jointed structure causes dense accumulation of dripstones; there are many small rooms divided by dripstone columns. It s a dry; completely fossil cave. It was explored and mapped by MTA and published in 1992. Bats were seen. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
