It is on the west bank of Çankaya Stream that empties into Akçaova Brook; 2 km southwest from Boz Tepe (533 m altitude) which is a high hill divided by Karadere in the east; and Akçaova Brook in the west.
Structural Properties and formation : Ayvadüzü cave developed inside the limestone between the impermeable rocks. The cave which is located 180 m above the sealine; and 40 m above the stream basin; has three entrances. The second entrance is on the right side of the main entrance facing south; at +4m. This is also the primary discharge point of the cave; and it is completely fossil. On the other hand the third entrance (entrance A) is across from the main entrance. Due to the fragmented system of the limestones the cave having a wavy structure has a ceiling height that differs between 3 and 10 meters. The basin of Ayvadüzü; which is a horizontally developed spring cave; is filled with soil; sand; pebbles; and debris. The dripstones are not developed except the column formed at the cave entrance by the subsurface stream generated in the mid section; and the dripstones on the walls at the last section. The little subsurface stream disappears again under the basin; in front this column and leaves the cave.
Research History: It was researched by Geological Studies Department of MTA General Directorate; and published in 2004.
Findings: There is a large bat colony inside the hall in the north of the cave main gallery.
