Kurudere Caves are 3 km southwest from Patlaksu.
Structural Properties and formation : The cave developed inside the limestones that lie along and inside the impermeable rocks. The Patlaksu entrance is 4 m above Kizildere basin (300 m altitude). It is a horizontally developed spring type active cave. The cave width is 2 - 5 m; the ceiling is between 0.5-6 m. On the other hand a branch that splits from the center towards SW; is narrower with lower ceiling. The small branch ends at a height +2m above the entrance. Patlaksu entrance is looking over Kizildere. Its basin is filled with soil; sand; pebbles; and debris. There are almost no dripstone formations. The subsurface stream in the cave flows both in summer and in winter. The stream enters the cave from the siphon at the end of the cave; flows a short distance inside the cave; then leaves the cave at the siiphon near the entrance.
Research History: It was researched by the Karst; and Cave Researches Unit of the Geological Studies Department of the MTA General Directorate in 2004 and published.
