It is located to the south of the Camarasi Village in a valley where the ancient city of Aphrodisias is located in the Karacasu District of Aydin province. It is a horizontal cave. The entrance is partially closed; which is accessible by crawling for up to 3 m. It consists of a large hall and 6-7 small rooms. The maze type nature of the cave lead to confusions; resulting in diverse traverses for the same place. Because of these confusions; its actual length of 60 to 70 m only was traversed as 348 m by MTA. A variety of stalactites and stalagmites can be seen in the cave. It is one of the most important caves in the Aegean Region [Cetin 1990:45-46]. The cave was formed on a weak zone within the marbles of the crust zone surrounding the Sirtlan Ini Menderes Massif. The marbles are of big crystallized and fractured structure. It is inhabited by a big colony of bats [Güldali et al. 1985:72-80]. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
