Structural Properties and formation : Cave is formed between clayed limestones in Lower Triassic (Skythian) and dolomitic limestones in Mid-Triassic (Anisian) [Özdemir et al. 1973]. The surface water inflowing to dolines (Inkese Cave, Yol Copulu Cave, Yamac Copulu Cave) constitutes an underground stream in Inkese Cave. Stream rises to the surface at the Sucikan Cave through faulting karstic resource named as "Sucikan Spring". Fossil cave though it is, it was suggested to be formed by an underground stream along limestone faults by the result of tectonic results. On the wall of cave there are travertine deposits in white and at base of the cave there are huge and edged blocks of 20-25cm sized. The existance of a spring rising to the surface depends on rainy seasons
Research History: It is a cave known by the villagers inhabiting in Hacili and Sortullu. The cavity processes of cave was assessed by Ertek, T.A. surveyed Kocaeli Peninsula in terms of geomorphology in 1980's [Ertek 1990 ve 1995]. Cave was firstly mapped by Ertek and his team.
Findings: Cave mouse, dark brown spider, mosquito and small brown bat were encountered in cave.
