Location:
Structural Properties and formation : Cave with thick layers, lots of cracks and articulated formation is formed in abraded gaps of aged Parpiyayla limestones in Mid and Upper Miocene which is permeable. Dongel Cave that had been developed by the fragmentation of main cave (underground karstic system) consists three different parts. Fossil branch on top with bat habitation in it and the branch with waterfall constitutes the first two of them. The branch with waterfall is semi-active since the water has been directed to the tribune. As it had been a container for water, today it is a depressed canyon with its passage function. The active branch, the most interesting to research lies at the bottom. It has 117 m of length upto siphon and fully horizontal. It is developed through two cracks (NE-SW/NW-SE). Averagelly the width is between 2-3 m, while it, in someplaces, reaches to 10 m and decreases to 0,5 m. Similarly the height from the floor was calculated averagelly 2-3 m but it decreases 0,3m where the water has high level. Water with averagelly 2 lt/sec of rate of flow (October 2008) flows in each season exceeds the depth of 1 m in someplaces. At the end of cave where the siphon lies reaches the depth of 2 m.
