Karahöyük Elbistan
(K.Maras/Elbistan/Karahoyuk)

Discovered in 1930, this Early Bronze Age mound is the largest in the region. With the exception of its eastern section, all of it is covered by houses. A village is built on the flattened skirts. The TAY team was able to identify up to 70 treasure hunter pits on it. A gigantic pit is located directly in the center top of it. This pit is even given a name by the villagers: “Bounty Creek”!
