It is situated in the Kalenderhane Quarter of the Fatih District in Istanbul. It was revealed during the excavations conducted between the Valens (Bozdogan) Aqueduct and the Kalenderhane Mosque. The public bath consists of three compartments: The first compartment (A) has a rectangular entrance, and two bath niches. It provides access to the Calidarium (B). The Calidarium (B) has a round plan with a diameter of 3.75 m. There are two semicircular niches in the west, and a door allowing access into the third compartment. The third compartment (C) has also a round plan with a diameter of 5 m, and it opens into a semicircular niche in another building from the northwest [Striker-Kuban 1971:254-255, res. 7-10; Striker-Kuban 1997:31-36, pics. 11-14; Müller-Wiener 2001:49, pics. 25-26]. The bath remains just north of the building have recently been restored [TAYEx 04.09.2008].
