Research and Excavation:
Description: Architectural Features: The structure is important for its central plan. However, it is completely vanished. The external surface shaped like polygon with fourteen vertexes forms a circle and only a semicircular apse projects from the external surface. The structure is entered through the arched opening on the west. In the naos, four masonry pillars and four columns placed among them are aligned in oval form. They are connected to each other and to the walls with the help of arches. There is a section seems like an enclosing corridor around them [Eyice 1971b:40]. Decorative Features: There is a red painted cross motif inside the apse [Eyice 1971b:40-41].
Finds: During the cleaning carried out by W. Ramsay, the rubbles were removed and pillars and columns were exposed. Also, large mouthed pithoi and pipes were found 1 m below the floor level [Eyice 1971b:41].
Interpretation: S. Guyer viewed this structure as it is solid in terms of construction technique and also he stated that although the technique is based on essential principles, it is carelessly structured and was built in the plan of a combination of octagon-basilica. S. Eyice, on the other hand, emphasized that the structure is different from the round buildings that are commonly seen in the history of architecture and it has unique characteristics [Eyice 1971b:41].
