Geography and Environment:
Research and Excavation: Roth visited the structure in 1906 [Rott 1908]. It was researched by Restle in 1970s and B. Çelebioglu was researched the structure within the scope of her Ph.D. in 2007 [Restle 1978; Çelebioglu 2008].
Description: Building Phases: Rott who visited the structure in the beginning of the 20th century stated that the first building phase of the structure was in cross plan. The second structure built in the place of the church in cross plan, which has probably collapsed, is with a single nave [Çelebioglu 2008:34]. Architectural Features: The church has completely collapsed. Only 1-2 m of the southeast section of the apse survived. Therefore, it is not possible to identify the plan of the structure. However, it is asserted that the church had different plans in each phase. Rott stated that the church was in cross plan and he also gave the measurements of the structure [Rott 1908]. Based on this information, Çelebioglu stated that there are two building phases: The first one is the church in cross plan and the second one is the single naved church, the apse of which is preserved [Çelebioglu 2008:33-34, figs. 3.8]. The wall of the structure was built with regular cut-stones and rubble stones.
