It lies within the borders of the Akdag Village of the Dumlu Subdistrict in Erzurum. It rests at the end of the road diverting to the village from the Erzurum-Tortum motorway, and it overlooks the plain. The fortification walls can only be detected on the foundation level at present, they have curtain walls and bastions in various locations. Near the fortress lie a series of smaller watchtowers around the Akdag Village, which can be related with the fortress. |
