It is located 4 km north of the Atlilar Village, 15 km northeast of the Baskale District in Van. It is 2150 m high above the sea level. The floodgate of the reservoir measures around 200x80 m in dimensions, lying to the south. Andesite stones were used on the wall, and the outer surface of these stones were roughly dressed. The floodgate was replaced by the Regional Directorate of Soil and Water Resources in Van in 1970s. It seems that the reservoir was built during the 7th century BC. |
