The walls of the dam, which is located in the Yayliyaka Village, 40 km north of the Merkez District in Van, survived to the present day. It measures 1-1.5 m in height, and 3-4 m in width with an average lenght of 100 m. The most interesting architectural feature of this dam is that the eastern end of the wall was connected to a wall in the north-south direction. Stretching straight in north-south direction seems to be as important as the wall of the dam. Because this wall delimits both east of the dam and east of the channel running to the north from the Asagi Esenpinar Dam. Somewhat large and roughly dressed andesite stones were used for the construction of the wall.
