It lies 5 km southeast of the Güleçler Village, 75 km far from the Gürpinar District, 97 km southeast of Van. It is located approximately 600-700 m southwest of the Upper Embi Dam, at 1190 m above the sea level. The dam is filled with rain, flood, snow and spring waters. The dam was filled up with a thick layer of earth as the spring waters flow very fast towards west, and at present there is not much water. The dam's wall was erected between two valleys to the west in the north-south direction. The wall is 65 m long, and 6.5 m wide. It is presumably 2 m high. The stones used in the dam are smaller than the ones in the Upper Embi Dam. They have square and rectangular shapes, better dressed than the ones in the Upper Embi Dam. The floodgate is at the center. Size and qualified masonry of the stones used for the walls of the Lower Embi Dam indicate that it was built during the 7th century BC.
