It lies 3 km west of the road to Ankara, 25 km north of Konya. It measures 250x200x25 m in dimensions. Spreaded onto a wider area other than these dimensions, to the southwest of it lies an ancient sand quarry. This section should have been where the cemetery and potters' workshops were located based on the plenty of ceramic flux found here. It was discovered in 1999 during the Surveys in the Provinces of Konya-Karaman conducted under the direction of H. Bahar. The mound includes material from the Chalcolithic and Bronze Ages, 2nd Millennium BC, 1st Millennium BC, and Hellenistic and Roman periods. |
