Presently called Hersek, the site was subordinate to Nicaea on the southern shore of Astacos (Astakenos Kolpos) also called the Gulf of Olbia to the north of Nicaea. Later on called Helenopolis, Drepanon was used as a summer resort during the Byzantine Period. M.A. Anabolu reported that Drepanon should have been located between Prainetos (Karamürsel) and Pylai (Çiftlikköy). |
