The mound; visited by C.A. Burney in 1955; lies northwest of Samsun; 5 km east of Alaçam; near Karadeniz sherds of black-red ware; gray ware; reddish-gray ware and red ware dated back to the Late Chalcolithic Age. Most of the vessels' exterior surfaces are burnished and almost every vessel is slipped. Some of the vessels' interior surfaces are plain. The surface colors change from black to pinkish brown. |
