The fortress is within the borders of Sulakbahçe Village which is 10 km northwest of Akyaka District in Kars, and it consists of two sections. The fortress was built on two hills in order to strengthen its fortifications and these were built in Cyclopean technique. The fortress overlooks the land where agricultural work was performed, and north of Karahan Brook. It was surveyed by A. Bingöl et al in 2008. The collected sherds belong to EBA, Iron Age and Medieval Age [Bingöl et al. 2010:384]. |
