It is located at Haci Mustafa'nın Dami or the area known as Yesil Tepe; 450 m south of Derinkuyu while entering to the Kasik Valley; about 6.9 km southwest of Yeniköy. During the survey conducted by H. Lohmann around the ancient city of Miletos; presence of a Necropolis area comprising pithos graves dating from the EBA among other remains varying from the Neolithic Age to the Byzantine Period was reported. Damage on the pithos resulted from illicit digging. The cemetery was probably plundered. On this conglomerate hill; there is a cultural deposit of 10-20 cm. The collected material is preserved at the Milet Archaeological Museum. A salvage excavation is necessary. |
