It is located in Bekler Village, 44 km away from Merkez District of Kars Province. It was discovered during the survey performed by Günasdi and his team in 2010. The necropolis covers a wide area and a creek flows by it. This creek formed a large crevice. Here, some architectural structures are seen. It is observed that these structures interlaced with the occupation site. It resembles Van Altintepe because of this feature. Although vast majority of potsherds belong to EBA, the area is considered as a necropolis dated to EIA based on its graves and EIA sherds discovered. [Günasdi et al. 2012:61]. |
