It is located in the bay, east of Bencik in Marmaris District of Mugla Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by Held and his team in 2010. It was found out that the remains called Arap Mezari was an antique pottery kiln. Although no traces of a settlement were found in the valley and the mountains nearby, a few potsherds scattered in a wide area were discovered. It is believed that this workshop probably belong to a settlement which was located far away. Fine potsherds dating to the end of 6th century BC and amphoras were found in the kiln and around it. It was found out that this area was in use from the middle of 6th century BC to the beginning of 3rd century BC. Among the finds, kylixes, skyphoi, lamps, and amphoras dating to 6th and 5th century BC are significant. Mushroom shaped amphoras found in this area are the representatives of the earliest examples of this type [Held 2012:189-192].
