It is located about 1 km northeast of Esenler Village in Varto District, 2 km southwest of Meseiçi Village in Bulanik District of Mus Province. It lies on Sahmiran Tepesi which is 1726 m high above sea level. It was discovered during the survey performed by Biber and his team in 2010. Architectural remains were concentrated on the eastern section of the hill. The rampart which can be traced on the southern section extends towards east and turns north at an angle of 90 degrees, continues through north. In this section, there are two rooms in rectangular plan resting against the rampart. In the corners and on the walls, tower like structures were built at intervals have been observed. The rampart and the rooms were constructed with large andesite stones in rectangular or polygonal shape. Small stones were used for to fill the spaces between large blocks. The craftsmanship of the walls indicates that the castle could belong to the beginning of MBA. There are wheel made, well and medium fired, sand tempered burnished and brown-tile red colored wares belonging to MBA among the collected sherds from the surface of the castle [Biber et al. 2012:378-379].
