It located between the ridges on the west of the old basin of Ladik Lake; souteast of Hasirci Village; northeast of Ladik; southwest of the city center of Samsun Province. It is situated on the south of Tatlicak-Ladik road and the north of Tasova-Ladik road. It measures 700x100 m and about 1.5 m in height. It was discovered by M. Özsait in 1986 and grey-black colored, thin walled, fine burnished potsherds were recovered from its surface. Some of them have straigt and rolled out rims. These vessels are dated to Chalcolithic by Özsait. Flint blades were also collected from the surface. The settlement appears in the Samsun Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Samsun Special Provincial Administration Directorship of Development and Construction in 2009. It measures 200x100 m. During the research, EBA potsherds have been seen as well. |
