The area (also named as Area no.7), which was discovered during the survey conducted by M. Kartal and his team in 2013, is located in the west of Area no.5 (see Ayiyatagi Mevkii Güneyi 1), in the area heading to Egreltilibayir Quarter in Arifaga Village in Kaynarca District of Sakarya Province. A leaf-shaped, bifacial spearhead was found in near the stream bed of Aga Dere. This tool bears technological and typological characteristics of Middle Palaeolithic-Upper Palaeolithic (?) transition period [Kartal et al. 2015:14]. |
