It is located in Topçu Village in Kaynarca District of Sakarya Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by M. Kartal and his team in 2013. It is also named as Area no. 8. Palaeolithic finds were found in the fields located on the right side of the road and at the end of Dagazli Quarter on Kaynarca-Karaçali motorway in the north of Kaynarca District. It is revealed that the large blocks seen on the fields are natural. The chipped stone finds consist of flints in various types and colors. The majority of these finds are with patina. Among the finds, there are two end scrapers belonging to the late phase of Palaeolithic, Levallois cores (probably dated to Middle Palaeolithic) and flakes showing Middle Palaeolithic characteristics. A few Middle Age wares were found in the area as well [Kartal et al. 2015:14]. |
