It is located in the north of Malakan Grave Stones in the northeast of Sulakyurt Village in Merkez District of Ardahan Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by S. Pataci in 2013. The mound measures about 200-230 m in diameter. A great number of Bronze Age sherds were found on the mound. There are some sherds that might belong to EBA as well. On the southern slope, Middle Age wares were found. A few IA (?) sherds were encountered as well. Bronze Age sherds were also recovered from the fill of the illicit digging pit on the summit of the mound. A large number of obsidian pieces were encountered all around the mound. Located 850-900 m north of the mound, an IA fortress was discovered. This fortress is situated on the southern summit of the mountain located 2125 m above the sea level. It is named as Sulakyurt Kalesi. A tower measuring 12.5 m in the north-south direction and 12 m in the east-west direction was discovered. The tower was built with basalt stones in dry wall technique. The spaces between the walls were filled with filling stones. The entrance is located to the south section and a lintel belonging to this entrance was found in situ. Remains of wall were found along the borders of the natural terrace and around the tower. These remains, covering an area of 7 m in diameter, should belong to the city wall and structures of the fortress. A few IA sherds were found around the terrace. Although, the construction date of this fortress is not known, it is possible to say that it was occupied during IA [Pataci 2015:105]. The castle is named Sulakyurt-Yeldegirmeni Tepesi in the 2017 publication [Pataci et al. 2017:178].
