These areas are located near Ahmeded Fountain, 600-700 m left of the road heading to village, at a distance of 4-5 km from Deresakari Village in Merkez District of Bilecik Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by T. Efe in 2013. The distance between these two settlements is 100 m. Located to the east, Ahmedet I measures 170x45 m. Ahmedet II, on the other hand, measures about 50x30 m. The materials found in both settlements are dated to the period before Classical Fikirtepe. It is also possible that the settlement in the west belongs to a bit earlier period. The south section of Ahmedet I was truncated. The potsherds recovered from Ahmedet I are dark faced and grit tempered. There are sherds of Fikirtepe boxes with incised decoration, S profiled bowls and jars with thick rims and vessels with vertical and horizontal pierced lugs. Some stone tools, ground stones, mortars and grinding stones were found in this settlement as well. In Ahmedet II, a great number of flint tools ans cores were found. Two of them are bullet shaped cores. Four ground stone fragments were recovered. The potsherds consist of dark faced, red and brown slipped wares. S profiled bowls are common. A box sherd with incised decoration, a bowl sherd with inverted rim, a serpentine axe fragment and a arrowhead were found [Efe et al. 2015:497-498]. |
