It is located about 8 km east of Seyfe Lake, in Bazlamaç Village in Mucur District of Kirsehir Province. The mound was discovered during the survey conducted by M. Mori and S. Omura in 1988 [Mori-Omura 1990]. It was revisited by Omura in 2013. It is one of the largest mounds in the region and it measures 300 m in the east-west direction and 340 m in the north-south direction. It is 22 m in height. The potsherds recovered from the mound are dated to EBA, MBA and Late IA. It is possible that Garipli 1 had a substantial city wall belonging to IA as in Kaman-Kalehöyük [Omura 2015:506]. |
