It is located in Aybasan Village in Senpazar District of Kastamonu Province. During the survey carried out by B. Düring and his team within the scope of Cide Archaeological Project, potsherds dating to Byzantine Period and chipped stone finds belonging to Early Holocene were found. The macroscopic analysis on the chipped stone finds shows that 11 different types of flint were used. 4 pieces of obsidian were also found. The obsidian was obtained from the Galatia source that is located about 150 km far from Cide-Senpazar region. The majority of the finds recovered from Aybasan consist of flakes, knapping wastes and chips. There are also a few blades and bladelets and pieces, which could be defined as tool, are quite a few. Along with the shapeless cores, there are unipolar cores [Düring-Klinkenberg 2015]. |
