It is located immediately south of Belpinar Town of Merkez District in Batman Province. The mound is about 150 m in diameter and today it is used as a cemetery. It is observed that the excavated area also contains ancient graves. Therefore, it is possible to say that the area was used as a cemetery until the Middle Age. The area has been damaged due to forestation. Among the finds, there are potsherds dated to Halaf Period and a few sherds belonging to Middle Age. There are also large grinding stones, jamb stones and press stones. In addition to those, some flint and obsidian pieces were found [Kozbe et al. 2017:395]. |
