Worked flints were found in the area, dating to the Epipalaeolithic and post-Epipalaeolithic periods, located 5.5 km far from the sea as the crow flies, in Hemsin (Çamlihemsin) Village of Akçakoca District in Düzce Province. The area was investigated during the survey conducted by Nurperi Ayengin in 2014. The visible area measures 18x9 m and as far as it could be observed from the section, the archaeological layer is covered with 50 cm thick fill. Among the finds spread all over the area, there are tools, core pieces, a great number of knapping wastes and rubble. Also, a grooved stone tool used for burnishing bone tools, 4 burnishing tools (one of which is broken), chipped stone tools and cores were found in the section. The area yielded a stone burin used for bone tool production, blade core, and blade fragment as well. It is believed that the stream near the workshop was used for a raw material source [Ayengin 2016:426].
