During the survey conducted by M. Kartal and his team on the left side of the fields on the road heading to Hasanfaki Village in the north of Sogucak Village in the east of Sögütlü District of Sakarya Province in 2014, a large number of local brown (brownish and/or honey colored) flint raw material, which are not high quality, were determined. The vast majority of them is unworked. Apart from that, there are also 3 types of non-local flints. One is white colored, one is maroon colored, and one is brown colored high quality flintstone giving conchoidal fracture. Also, Clactonian flakes and denticulated flakes were found. The finds date to Lower Palaeolithic [Kartal et al. 2016:391]. |
