It locates on the hill locally known as Ziyaret, in the south of Ölçek Village, 15 km east of Merkez District in Ardahan Province. Taslidere flows from the west, north and east of the hill. Güneri discovered the tower in 1987. Gündogdu researched the site in 1999. During this research, it was stated the structure here is a castle. It was visited during the survey carried out by S. Pataci and his team in 2015, and it was concluded that it is, in fact, a tower. The tower measures 4.10x3.20 m, and extends in the northwest-southeast direction. The tower preserved up to 2.70 m high. The walls were erected with medium sized stones in the drystone wall technique. A few potsherds found around the tower date to the 2nd millennium BC and IA. Potsherds showing great similarity to the ones found in the tower on Ziyaret Tepe, which is 180 m south of the tower, were found. There is a row of stone, which could belong to a grave, in the north [Pataci et al. 2017:185-6].
