It locates on the southeastern ridge of the hills separating Kusçular and _çmeler plains, 2 km west of Kusçular Village, in Urla District of Izmir Province. The Izmir-Çesme highway passes over the mound. Therefore, the northern part of the settlement has been vanished. Some of the soil that was taken during the construction of the road was emptied to the earthmoving area locating 1.5 km west. It was investigated during the survey conducted by T. Caymaz and his team in 2015. The site covers an area of about 2 hectares. The finds concentrate on two sections. The eastern section yields Neolithic finds, while Chalcolithic finds concentrate in the western sections. There are potsherds, which could be dated to the beginning of EBA alongside the highway and in the earthmoving area. The EBA vessels are generally dark surfaced and burnished. The researchers state that further studies need to be done on the EBA finds [Caymaz-Emeç 2017:629-32].
