Gaziler Höyük is located at the Bakraç Quarter of Afsin district, Kahramanmaras Province. The mound is located at a 1200 m altitude and covers an area of approximately 12927 square meters. The mound is dated to the Late Chalcolithic Period, the Early, Middle and Late Bronze Ages, the Early Trans-Karaz/Karaz and Hittite Periods [Dumankaya et. al. 2018: 467]. Three main ware are documented at Gaziler Höyük. First of them is the reddish-brown burnished pottery with exterior-thickened rims that are considered to be in continuous use from the Late Chalcolithic Period to the Early Bronze Age. Similar pottery had been found within the region at Akpinar, Bozhöyük, Kartalkaya-Körali, Karasüleymanli, Hozan, Karaelbistan, Ortaören Höyük. The second group is the cream-coated plain simple ware that is dated to the Early Bronze Age and the beginnings of the Middle Bronze Age. Third group consists of pottery similar to the gray-faced or pale-gray faced Hittite ceramics. Although there are Early Trans-caucasian /Karaz pottery documented in the surrounding mounds, they are not found within Gaziler Höyük. Gaziler Höyük Pottery is classified in two groups in terms of form and decoration. The first is a knobbed-handle sherd and the second is a potsherd with incised geometric designs in double lines and a circular hollow [Dumankaya et. al. 2018: 467].
