It lies on the western side of Vezirköprü-Doyran road; to the northwest of the village of Doyran in the district of Vezirköprü; province of Samsun. The mound was discovered by U.B. Alkim and recorded as an EBA settlement. The mound appears in the Samsun Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Samsun Special Provincial Administration Directorship of Development and Construction in 2009.Late Antiquity graves have been seen on the mound. These graves were unearthed due to illicit diggings and erected with piled up stone blocks. The upper parts were covered with cap stones. Only two of those four have cap stones. |
