The site lies 25 km northwest of the city of Karaman; northeast of Demiryurt (Mandasun) Village; 2 km southeast of Islihisar Village. It was discovered by J. Mellaart during the 1958 surface survey he conducted in the area. Monochrome ceramics resembling those in layers VI-I of Çatalhöyük East were found at the mound site of Keyren. The finds have not been published. Mellaart lists this site among the Neolithic sites in the Konya Plain while D.H. French believes it dates to the sixth millennium BC In ASPRO; where the site is placed in the sixth phase; uncalibrated dates for the site are 7;600-7;000 BP. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
