It lies 19 km northwest of Emirdag District; northwest of Afyonkarahisar Province. It was discovered by J. Mellaart. It is an EBA II settlement. It was visited again during the survey performed by Ö. Koçak et al. in 2007. The mound is on a large area, 600 m northwest of Salihler Village and 200 m north of Hacihamzali road. The mound is 220 m southeast-northwest, 150 m northeast-southwest, and has a height of 13 m. EBA finds are often encountered on the mound. Among these finds knot and hamper grips, horseshoe and triangular grips, EBA painted specimens, under the rim backbone figure decorated bowls and stone tools were found[Koçak 2009:54]. It is listed in the registered archaeological sites inventory prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
