It lies within the territory of Askale District in the Meydan quarter; about 52 km west of Erzurum Province. It measures 20 m in height and 150x60 m in dimension. It stands on a rocky hill; 50-55 m high. Sections resulted from the wearing of the steep slopes of the mound yielded plenty of the Karaz/ Early Transcaucasian sherds. It was discovered by S. Güneri [Güneri 1992:161]. Also found is a sherd resembling the angular vases decorated with incisions found at Karaz Höyügü. To the western ridge of the mound; there are remains of a series of stone foundations. |
