The mound lies southwest of Amasya; northeast of Göynücek; 2 km northwest of Ayvalipinar village; 6 km east of Çekerek river. It is a 200x100 m small mound; 6 m in height. The site was discovered during the Göynücek Survey conducted by M. Özsait in 1989. Hard fired; burnished sherds with red-brown colored on the interior and black on the exterior were belong to the Chalcolithic Age. There were also the EBA and 2nd Millennium BC finds. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
