Hameyli Tepe is located 500 m north of Gülkaya Village in Karkamis district; Gaziantep province [Taskiran 2002:422]. Gülkaya-Nizip road passes over this 396 m high hill. Palaeolithic materials were densely found on the pistachio fields located on the northern and western sides of this asphalt road. The southern slopes facing the Kerzin Stream are richer in finds according to the northern slopes [Taskiran 2002:422]. This site was discovered in 2000 by a team under H. Taskiran during the project of "The Palaeolithic Survey in the Carchemish Dam Reservoir Region" coordinated by METU TAÇDAM (Center for Research and Assessment of the Historic Environment). 29 bifaced tools were found [Taskiran 2002:422].
