The site lies on a natural hill known as Yel Tepesi; 2 km southwest of the village of Karga in the Havza district of the province of Samsun. It is 200 m west of Suluova-Ladik motorway. The hill; which measures 100x70 m; is about 30 m high from the plain level. The settlement is located on the eastern slopes of the hill and Derinöz (Ayi Deresi) runs through this area. The settlement was visited in 2001 during the survey of Samsun and Amasya provinces conducted under the direction of M. Özsait. During the researches it was observed that the settlement was totally destructed by earth-moving machines and includes EBA material. |
