It lies 2.5 km north of the village of Asagi Barak in the district of Hacibektas; province of Nevsehir. It measures 115 m in diameter and 20 m in height. It was discovered in 1990 during the surveys conducted in the Central Anatolia under the leadership of S. Omura. Plenty of thick red slipped and burnished EBA sherds were collected. A small amount of MBA and Iron Age sherds are also available. It was visited during the survey conducted by A. Türker in 2013. Türker stated that the mound is 237 m in diameter and about 25 m in height. Neolithic (?), Chalcolithic (?), EBA, MBA, IA and Middle Age potsherds were collected from the surface and the surrounding area. A dice-shaped stone tool that could be dated to IA and a loom weight, the head of which is conical and the body is triangle, belonging to IA (?) were found [Türker 2015:236]. |
