It is located 14 km southeast of Harran; south-southeast of Sanliurfa. It measures 180 m in the north-south and 130 m in east-west direction. It is an oval mound rising about 8 m above the plain level. There is a modern village nearby. It is also known as Biraburgeç. It was visited by N. Yardimci during the survey of Harran Plain. Chalcolithic Period is represented by Halafian pottery and plain wares. The surface finds also include EBA and 1st millennium BC material. |
