It is located 8.5 km northeast of Harran; south-southeast of Sanliurfa. It measures 250 m in diameter and 11 m in height. It is also known as Yünlüce or Tel Ganem. The site was investigated by N. Yardimci during the survey of Harran Plain. The Chalcolithic Period is represented by the Halaf and Ubaid pottery as well as straw-tempered plain wares. Sherds belonging to the EBA; 1st millennium BC; Roman; Medieval-Islamic periods were also encountered. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
