It is located in Bitik Village; about 42 km northwest of Ankara Province. It rises on a plain. It measures 18 m in height and 240-250 m in diameter. R.O. Arik carried out a small excavation in 1942. The mound has been partly damaged by the village obscuring it. The excavation yielded layers dating from the Classical Period; the Phrygian Period; the Hittite Period and the Copper Age/Early Bronze Age II. In 15.5 m depth; interiorly black washed and exteriorly light and bright colored sherds identical to the Karaoglan finds were recovered. The finds of EBA are not reported in detail. Groove decorated handles were found [Arik 1944:pl.LXII]. The virgin soil couldn't be reached due to the water table. It was reinvestigated in 1994 by S. Omura who observed that it has been severely damaged due to illicit digging.
