Extending 280 m in the north-south direction, and 200 m in the east-west direction, the settlement covers an area of ca. 14 acres. It rests on a Late Pleistocene terrace overlooking the channel of Euphrates. It lies 400 m southeast of the Kini Village, and 800 m north of the Yukari Bayindir Village. On the eastern side of the settlement lies the Aktas Harabeleri 2, an Uruk settlement. Sherds from the Iron Age and Early Byzantine Period were found [Algaze et al. 1994:44]. |
